{What happened today?}
We listened to a talk on Clean Water and Sanitation. Then we each went for our respective workshops. I attended the workshop on Survivor Daphnia Island where we used Daphnias to examine the quality of different water samples. After lunch, we had a socialising activity where we got many contacts of our friends from all around the world. Then, we changed into our formal attire to head to the museum of science and industry. I managed to buy more souvenirs there before we had dinner. It was the best dinner I had throughout the trip. During the closing ceremony, I was happy that 5/9 of us Singaporeans received an award. I was elated for Matthew who received the Best Research award together with Chelsea and Ragavi. After the awards ceremony, we walked around the museum before heading back to our dorms.

{What is the cause of the success or failure?}
The cause of success for those 5 Singaporeans was the immense effort put into their projects. If I worked a little harder and requested Mr Tan to sign me up for the slides presentation, I would have a higher chance of winning.

Generalising
{What have you learnt?}
For today's panel.. a food for thought is "Is there any way waste can be used as a fuel source? Anyway we can make sanitation more efficient?" and "Technological intervention may only be more applicable to 'atas' countries."

I learnt that hard work pays off and setting goals is important so that i was able to make the best out of both worlds for this trip.

Applying
{What would you do in the future?}
In future, I would do my best in whatever project I work on. Maybe in future, I would be able to attend ISSF again when I enter JC.

Overall comments
From this trip, I learnt how science can be specialized and applied to different parts of the world which have their own unique issues. It was cool being able to learn from peers who are slightly older than us and have greater experience. Apart from gaining scientific and mathematical knowledge, I learnt the importance of having burning passion and putting in 150% of effort in everything that has to be done. With the mindset of giving my very best, I am sure that excellence will not be hard to achieve.”
